Colour Inspiration ~ February 'Animalistic'

Rooooarrr!!  Embrace your inner animal with lingerie inspired by the wild.  Haha!

But seriously, tigers and other felines get to live with these fabulous colour combinations every day!  Black, orange, tan, raw umber and bone.

February is the month of Valentine's Day, romance and love but I wanted to introduce a different spin to the usual pink and red colour theme.  Here are some examples of lingerie that celebrates the raw, animalistic side to love.

1.

La Perla lace contrast bra

Black mesh and black lace layered over foam cups almost creates an animal print effect.  The Zazie bra by Zazie Patterns would work well for this.

2.

Claudette - Dessous Bra

Vibrant orange is a nice alternative to red or pink - I love how it is combined with an unexpected earthy beige.  I think the Harriet bra by Cloth Habit would be great paired with this lightweight orange powermesh, lined of course.

3.

Miss Daisy Bralette by Love Stories

A cool and sporty take on a see-through bra - I'd use the Euler Bra pattern by Sophie Hines mixed with the 'Beauty Spot' mesh and bright orange and beige findings.

4.

La Perla Black/Tan Shanghai Bra and Brief

I LOVE the asymmetry of these briefs and I think it would be easy to adapt any bikini cut pattern just by drawing in some style lines and creating two overlapping front pieces.  A lightweight off-white mesh with black lace and findings makes a subtly sexy combination.

5.

Use the new Lana bra pattern by Made for Mermaids to create a non underwired version of this pretty lace bra.  Orange lace layered over orange powermesh for extra support with orange and gold findings - this would make a bra too pretty to cover-up!  It would look cool peaking out from an oversize, off white tee.

So are you making any special Valentine's Day sets of lingerie?  Last year I made a gift for myself of some pretty lace knickers, this year I'm sharing the love with you all with a special discount on lingerie sewing patterns - buy one get the second one at 60% off by using the code 'PATTERNLOVE'

Happy Valentine's Day!

Love how you’ve paired the patterns to these inspirations Helen – they are always so tempting, I want to make them all but sigh!! You know I’m such a procrastinator, it would never happen!!
