As a way of refining my love of colour, I'm dedicating each month to a colour inspiration theme.
Showcased throughout the month will be fabric and findings that work to compliment each other, under the umbrella of the colour collection. I'll create garments to highlight these, as well as, curate two limited edition kits available for that month only!
So, given that I've just launched a rebranded Nellie Joans, July's colour inspiration has to be 'On Brand!'
From the crisp, dark denim blue to the soft, dove grey and with the brights in between, I'm in love with my colour choices!
When deciding how I would like Nellie Joans to look, my keywords were 'Arty', 'Bright', 'Precise' and 'Graphic.' and my colour choices flowed on from these.
So, how does this translate into lingerie making inspiration?
Well, any two or three of these colour combinations would make for fabulous lingerie.
Navy and Teal: I'd forgotten just how powerful this colour combination is. Either play it safe with navy findings or lighten it up with silver grey.
Navy and Fuchsia: So sassy! You could keep the fuchsia as a backdrop peaking through navy lace or make it a stand out feature.
Fuchsia and Teal: Man, it's a hot one! This is a colour combination that is sure to get noticed. Cool it down with pale grey findings.
Navy and Grey: Go everyday sophistication with this one. These two colours would make it easy to mix and match with other pieces.
For those of you in the Northern hemispheres heat wave, how about a one piece swimsuit in navy polka dot? Or this swimsuit lycra, labelled 'Camel' is actually a beautiful old gold colour. It begs to be turned into a retro styled, tie front bikini such as the 'Vernazza.'
Why not go all out hot pink with this briefs kit? Perfect for patterns like the 'Montgomery' but be quick! It's the last one.
