Introducing April's Limited Edition Kit ~ 'The Helena'
Share
'The Helena' is a kit full of bright, happy colours and prints! It's about being bold in your colour choices and letting go of fears that certain colours should not be seen together!
'The Helena' is a kit created for underwire bra patterns.
The main fabric 'tropical' has a 96% cotton, 4% spandex content. It has a low, stable stretch of about 15% making it ideal for lingerie patterns that call for a 'low to no movement' woven fabric. So you could use it in place of duoplex for example.
The inky blue lace is perfect for accent pieces and has a regular, small scalloped edge. The same colour is repeated in the powernet to be used for the back bands. This is a lightweight powernet so you may find for larger sizes that you want to double up the layers.
These fabrics combine well with a lot of different elastic colours especially the emerald and fuchsia supplied in the kit. Their brightness complements the fabric's bright colours.
I used this kit to sew up a Lansdowne bra by Orange Lingerie and I love the way the inky blue fabrics balance out the bright colours. It's such a fun bra!
'The Helena' is named after Helena Bonham-Carter, a brilliant actress who is fearless in her wardrobe choices and uses fashion to express her personality.
