Project ideas for patterned elastic

There is a fun, new product at Nellie Joans - wide, plush, printed band elastic! So we've brainstormed some ways that this can be used in sewing, both in lingerie, outerwear and accessories!
Available in six different prints and colours, there is sure to be a perfect match for your project.
1. Starting with the obvious, this elastic would be perfect as the waistband on boxer-briefs. Say good-bye to boring undies; you can mix and match printed band elastic and printed cotton lycra. Or let the elastic be the star and go for a plain knit.
2. A number of bra patterns call for a wide, plush band elastic - the Sahaara View A and the Jordy Bralette come to mind. This patterned elastic would make a fun, sporty set (I can see my teen coveting one of these.)
3. As a waistband on a gathered skirt or lounge pants. Super comfy!
4. A DIY belt - simply add a closure. Here is a tutorial by Vintage in a Modern World. (photo credit)
5. A bumbag strap - bumbags are such a handy accessory when out exercising or walking the dog. Make one with a fun and practical elastic strap.
6. Use in place of ribbing on a bomber style jacket. Patterned cuffs and hem would look very cool!
7. Make an eyemask with a comfy wide elastic band.
8. Elastic book strap with pen/accessory holders - keep those sewing notes handy and secure.
We hope you are inspired to use the wide, patterned elastic in a variety of fun ways. If you come up with an inspired use be sure to let us know!
