'Come Together for Good' - Breast Cancer Fundraiser ~ Local Event!

Helen Cloke fundraiser pink ribbon

This May, I've come together with 28 other businesses to raise funds for Breast Cancer Foundation New Zealand!

Nine women a day are diagnosed with breast cancer in New Zealand.  That's over 3500 every year.

I've known many women who have been affected by breast cancer; family, close friends and through my business, many breast cancer survivors who have come to me with their specific bra design needs.  And with the support of these other businesses and yourself, we are well on our way to contributing to a future where breast cancer is much less common and those that are affected have 100% chance of survival.

This is a two part fundraiser!  Part One is for the Taranaki locals.  On Saturday the 27th of May I'm hosting a 'Pink Ribbon Breakfast' afternoon tea.  Part Two is for those of you who are further afield and can't make an in-person event - be sure to check out the next post for that information.  I'm incredibly excited about both of these fundraising events!

Part One - 'Pink Ribbon Breakfast' - Local Event

I'm sure most of you will know what 'Pink Ribbon Breakfast' is all about:

Pink Ribbon Breakfast is Breast Cancer Foundation NZ’s biggest fundraising campaign, where each year thousands of amazing Kiwis across the country raise money to fund breast cancer education, research and patient support.

On Saturday 27th of May, 3pm - 5pm I'm hosting a fabulous afternoon tea at the Nellie Joans shop.  This is a ticket only event and if you'd like to purchase a ticket you can contact me here

Tickets are $30 (NZD) with $25 going to Pink Ribbon and $5 towards our delicious, catered afternoon tea.  With 40 tickets to sell, I'm hoping we will raise $1000 for the Breast Cancer Foundation.

We will have fun games, music, merchandise, goody-bags and if you wear pink you'll go in the draw to win these amazing spot prizes donated by the following local (and a few further away) sponsors:

Other business stars I'd like to mention are:

Vicki Zieltjes who is donating her time as event photographer.

B'Wear - a lingerie supply store in Sweden who are sending some delicious chocolates for the goody bags

Why choose Pink Ribbon NZ?  Along with being a reputable charity, I feel the funding they receive is well allocated: 10% to fundraising and 15% to admin leaving a decent 75% towards research, medical, education and support.
