What glorious weather we have been having! (OK, today has seen the temperature plummet and I'm back to wearing three layers but I have high hopes that it's just a temporary glitch in summer.)
January in New Zealand is all about summer holidays and beach vibes so it was perfect to base the month's colour inspiration on 'Summer Blues'
Day two of the swimwear sewalong and I've managed to cut out my bikini top and bottoms.
How are you getting on with your swimwear sewing? Have you made it to the cutting out stage or maybe you have powered on to sewing? When all laid out it always looks like so many pieces to work with but I find it so satisfying that swimwear (and lingerie) can be made with so little fabric.
If you are sewing along using a swimwear specific pattern then happy days, you can just jump right in to cutting out!
If, like me, you are converting bra and underwear patterns then there will be a few changes you may need to make in order to convert them to swimwear.
Sewing your own swimwear is incredibly satisfying. The ideal result is togs (that's kiwi slang for swimwear to any non New Zealanders reading) that fit perfectly - both your style and your body and that's not always easy to achieve with ready to wear swimwear.
